I'm not a huge fan of America, but that "essay" was some of the worst drivel I've ever read regarding the socio-political "geography" of America and its place in the world today.

I don't mean to start a fight with Mr.Wysocki so I hope none of this is taken as a dig. But it seems, judging by what Mr.Hanson wrote, that he (Hanson) has been living under a rock for the last 8 years. The piece seems to be written out of spite, as if the author cannot bear the thought of Obama in office. I don't think anyone is imagining Obama will be that much better only that there is now hope whereas with Bush there was little.

And point #4 in the essay was simply insulting and idiotic (more so than the rest). I know of three cases personally of restricted freedom due to Bush's changes and I'm not even American.

Sorry Josh, I just couldn't let this go. You can always trash this comment :).

Quite right you are about Obama's speaking ability. Watching the speech I felt excitement, I felt pride for being part of a nation that is on the same continent as the nation that selected such a man. Believe it or not last night I had a dream that Obama was a teacher of mine, I believe it was high school. And he was an incredible teacher, he was excellent and I was so happy to have him as my instructor.

I don't know how he can do any good given the fact he doesn't have any money with which to do anything, but I guess that's the duty of leaders; work magic. I hope Obama can work some for America.
