But, that was a long while ago, and it seems I'm getting more and more spammers hammering my site. I've gotten comments with similar emails, or something like noone@spammy.com. Some folks just don't want to leave their real email addresses which, I suppose, is understandable. You're basically handing it over to the blog owner, and if you just came across the site via search, you don't <em>know</em> the blogger. It seems Akismet on privately hosted blogs works less well than on wp.com — although that's just a hunch and I've never seen anything to corroborate it. Two spam comments a day is a lot and it would nag me too. terrible business and an ever-lasting bore it seems. Hm, I’ll have to try this then.

Awesome. I can deal with that. The constant trickle, however, was really getting frustrating. I am not sure what it's creator is doing these days, but I have had to install Akismet to catch what Bad Behaviour now lets through. I think I have to deal with one or two spam comments getting through both BB and Akismet every couple of months. It's hardly a problem. I was actually using Bad Behaviour long before Akismet came about, and while it was being actively developed it worked wonders on its own.
