What’s this 52 Books in 52 Weeks thing about?
Three down, four to go!
Like my post on the Chamber of Secrets, with this one, I’m not going to go too much into the plot bits; everyone who reads my blog knows about the books, I think. Instead, here are a few random thoughts I had about the book. One major spoiler below:
- I was let down with what “the prisoner of Azkaban” ended up meaning. I was hoping that Harry, Ron, and Hermione would end up inside Azkaban, getting someone out. That turned out to be quite far from what was actually being referred to in the title.
- I want a Time-Turner. Period. My birthday is coming up, you know… Wow. Think of how many more books I could read if I could roll back time!
- I ended up also being let down about Hagrid’s course on magical creatures. I thought it’d be an interesting diversion, to “sit in” on his classes, but they ended up amounting to nothing. Thanks, Malfoy!
- The ending was great. I would have liked it even more if Harry could have stayed with Sirius, as Sirius offered, but just him being set free and the truth being revealed was good.
- Hmm. Dementors = floating Ringwraiths?

I want a Hippogriff. Or one of those monster books you have to stroke to open (I admit I’m being biased by the film on that one, they’re so cute!)
More than anything I wanted Lupin to stay. Lupin was cool.

Not just Azkaban, Prisoner right? So Sirius. A lot of questions will probably be answered with the other books. As for dementors, I think Ringwraiths would do a lot more damage.

Cas: A Hippogriff would be nice, I suppose, but I’d prefer a gryffon. The monster books are indeed cool.
And yes, I liked Lupin a lot. Despite his condition, he was definitely a good guy.
Stavanger: “Not just Azkaban, Prisoner right? So Sirius.” Huh? I don’t understand what you’re saying there.

As a time travel nut, I found the Time Turner bit near the end pretty aces.

Yeah, the Time Turner thing was quite cool. I had to stop and think about the bit where Dumbledore was locking them in the room, though; at first, I was like, “whaaa’?”

Just saying about your first point, the subject wasn’t Azkaban, it was about Sirius right

Stavanger: Ahhh, okay. Yes, right.
