I only realized years later that I lived a couple of houses from one of the better chess clubs in my country at the time. Dang. There is, of course, also the problem of finding a good 1-2 hours to sit down and play a game. Online correspondence chess solves that problem nicely. Yeah, they're down at the moment. I just spoke to one of the fellows who works on it; they expect it to be back up tomorrow probably. Something about the communication server having a bug they can't figure out. For the time being, I'm playing on Red Hot Pawn. It's not as, ahem, "web 2.0"-ey as 64squar.es, but.. well, it <em>works</em> and that's what counts. Also.. haha. Yes.
