I do, though, find it interesting how it seems thus far that good guys = polytheism, and bad guys = monotheism.

It also makes phrases like "Oh my gods!" seem fresh thanks to the twist.

"DUMBASS."

Lol. Subtle. ;) It was a trade off I was willing to make. As I mentioned to my BSG junkie friend Rob, by the time I'd caught up on seasons 1 and 2, season 3 would be over. However, now that I'm "on board" for the currently running season, I figure I'll go back and watch the previous seasons at my leisure.

And yeah, Galactica falling towards the planet, launching the ships, then jumping right before smashing into the ground... "wow", indeed.

Re: religious robots... yeah, Rob mentioned that it hasn't really been explained where they got it from.

"I had no desire to go back and watch seasons 1 and 2 before beginning to watch season 3"

DUMBASS. Now you've spoiled the experience of watching 40-ish great episodes for the first time, just to rush to 4 (really really) awesome ones. From watching that condensed episode probably the biggest twists and turns will not be a surprise to you, but it's really worth going back and watching.

But oh man, Galactica jumping into the atmosphere, launching the rescue ships and jumping back out shortly before reaching the ground, oh man.

"I find the whole concept of mechanical beings being highly religious a bit odd. Did anyone else find this peculiar, or is it just me?"

Well, clearly they're not totally mechanical anymore. The biggest thing I find weird is that we so far just don't know how they got these beliefs.

"Colonel Tigh reminds me a great deal of a sailor."
In these last few episodes, yeah, but it's a very different situation than he'd been in previously, so you wouldn't think that from earlier shows.
